Individual Health Insurance Plans

Individual health insurance is an alternative for people who do not have or do not want coverage through a group insurance plan. Besides providing the protection and peace of mind you'll receive from insurance coverage, individual health insurance allows you more choices and lets you choose the types of benefits you need and premiums that meet your budget.

Major Medical Coverage

Major medical coverage is the most comprehensive type of individual health insurance available. Generally, these policies include coverage for preventative care, immunizations, outpatient and inpatient expenses, and more. Below are some examples of plans you may be able to choose from:

1. Humana One Autograph provides a number of deductible options ranging from $1,500 to $6,000 for policies for single people. Afterwards, you'll be able to choose the coinsurance options which best meet your options (i. e. you pay 20% and Humana covers the other 80%). Humana also offers a number of other plans, including Humana One Monogram and Humana One Portrait.

1. Golden Rule allows you to choose between paying higher deductibles and lower premiums or having an individual health insurance plan similar to those provided by most employers. You can choose deductibles ranging from $500 to $5,000 as well a variety of different coinsurance options, such as 0/100 and 20/80. You'll also receive prescription coverage with most of their major medical coverage plans.

1. Assurant provides a number of major medical coverage plans which allow you to work with physicians from an extensive network of medical care providers. Plus, you won't need a referral before seeing a specialist as you do with many individual health insurance plans. If you'd prefer a non-network plan, Assurant also provides several traditional plans that allow you complete freedom when choosing your doctors.
